Marriage needs laughter too. Find something worthy laughing and spice up your marriage. We have the type that pretends to be so serious that they want to appear modern by avoiding laughter at all cost. Oops! Don’t try this at home. There is time and season for everything – a time to mourn and a time to be happy. Create happy memories together.
Have you ever spoken to a rock? I would like to know how it responded. I have once spoken to trees when I was a small boy. They did not respond. Communication is to a marriage what an engine is to a car. Mess up the engine, and only a breakdown will come to your rescue. Maintain the engine and the car will keep you all smiles. The case is the same with marriage.
A messed communication builds the path to the end of a relationship. I hope you will not try this out. Find a safe place to talk about your ideas and feelings. Speak about your hopes and fears. Extroverts are easy going and will be very comfortable with open communication. For introverts like me, I know open communication does not come that easy, but it is possible. Nevertheless, we also ought to be open to our spouses.
From one time to another, we expect conflicts in marriages. Manage conflicts without letting them escalate out of control. You cannot be always right neither will you be always wrong.
Learn to address every conflict at all times at the earliest time possible. Some ladies like heaping up conflicts then pour them out in full measure sometimes later. It is advisable to sort them out as they arise to avoid accumulating trouble for the future. This leads us to our next point.
In most relationships, marriage being one of them, women tend to apologize the most. Does it mean that they make mistakes most? The truth has it that all parties make mistakes. You should be able to offer and ask for forgiveness.

You should be able to walk together through the thick and thin of marriage life. Find something of value to add into the life of your partner.
Love your spouse
Make it your duty to study and understand God’s love toward you and the much this love really means to you. With such an understanding, you will be in a better position to love your spouse. Husbands have a responsibility to love their wives. It is a duty of wives to respect their husbands in the Lord.
I have this card right on my bedroom door reading – a family that prays together stays together. Though I do not remember whosoever pinned it there I know it was by purpose. Prayer is our way of communicating with God.
